"The Ant Nebula"
The following image of this giant space ant (also known as Mz3) was taken by the Hubble
and its gas like structure is one light year in length! That means if you were traveling 669 million MPH it
would take you one year to travel across.

A Disc in the Ant Nebula
The image on the right shows a previously taken image of the Ant Nebula, in the mid-infrared,
with the VLT Imager and Spectrometer for the mid-InfraRed (VISIR). The disc extends from about 9 times the
same distance between the Earth and the Sun (9 Astronomical Units).

The Ant Nebula resembles the Butterfly Nebula
